Everton's bid is higher but Riera still wants Liverpool
The agent of the Espanyol winger Albert Riera has admitted that Everton are favourites to land the Spanish international, but the player himself has set his heart on a move to Anfield.
Andiarena Angel Castell was clear that it was a two-horse race between the two rivals from Merseyside, but the clincher for Riera was that he wanted the opportunity to play in the Champions League.
He said: 'Everton made a bid about four days ago and Liverpool have also showed interest in the player of course.'Both of them have put in an offer and although he would prefer to go to Liverpool, Everton have put in a better bid so you cannot tell yet where he will go.'Everton said they are looking for a good player in his position and he is one of the best in Europe at attacking.'Reira is desperate to leave Espanyol - absolutely desperate.
'He wants to play in the Premier League and to play against bigger clubs.'This could be yet another Everton target that falls by the wayside? If Liverpool match David Moyes bid, it seems he will straight away choose a move to the red side of Liverpool.

Hmm... walaupun saya amat berharap pemain sayap kiri perlu dibeli pada musim ini tetapi Riera bukan lah pilihan hati saya (walaupun pilihan hati Rafa).
Banyak lagi pemain yg lebih muda dan lebih konsisten yg boleh dibeli (selain Barry), seperti Silva (Valencia), Downing (Boro), Capel (Sevilla), Jakub (Dortmund), ataupun Angel Di Maria (Benfica).
Namun begitu, seperti semua sedia maklum Hick & Gillet takkan keluar duit lebih untuk pemain2 muda yg mungkin melebihi 15juta pound.
