Steven Gerrard's FA Cup equaliser against Everton on Sunday unwittingly handed injury-hit Manchester United a big problem. United's Premier League clash with the Toffees was originally scheduled for next Monday but the m atch has been moved forward 48 hours to compensate for the fourth round replay at Goodison Park. Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney are likely to miss out after the match was moved, having looked set to return to action against David Moyes' side at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson is without 12 senior players for Tuesday's league trip to West Brom and the fixture change has robbed some of his side the chance of two extra days' preparation. The latest change is part of a confusing February for Ferguson's side. Their game in hand against Fulham has been penciled in for February 17 but that is dependent on neither side requiring an FA Cup fifth round replay. In addition, United's home match against Portsmouth on February 28 has been postponed because of their appearance in the Carling Cup final the following day.
